Sept/Oct 2011 – music being played worldwide
Here are a bunch of new songs that I’ve been replaying and replaying for the last little while.
Corneille – Le jour après la fin du Monde
Where has this guy been?! This Canadian, French singer dropped off my radar about 5 years ago…well he’s back with a new album and this single.
Inna – Club Rocker
Latest one from her:
David Guetta feating Sia – Titanium
Seems like everyone is getting on the David Guetta band wagon…and why not? He’s a hit-maker. I don’t think I’ve heard a sucky mix or remix by him (yet). Here’s another hit.
Avicii – Levels
This mix is my favourite one out there. I’m completely hooked on Avicii…and he just happen to be easy on the eyes
Keemo, Tim Royko & Cosmo Klein – Beautiful Lie
This is just a calming, free, chillin’ song. Enjoy.
Taio Cruz featuring Flo Rida – Hangover
Unfortunately this song sounds a lot like all his current hits…and it’s starting to get annoying and disappointing. Get back to the sound from your Departure album! But I have to say most of us can relate to this song; having a hangover from time to time.
Rihana – Cheers (drink to that)
I can’t imagine anyone not liking this song right now. It’s just a straight up great getting ready to go out song with your girls (or boys), or if you’re at the club it’s a handy song to cheers to!
Another youtube sensation – Ana Free
Ana Gomes Ferreira Portuguese by birth and upbringing, now living in the UK has caught my eye and ears! She chose to go with Ana Free as her stage name because most people outside of Portugal can’t pronounce her last name. Heck I have a hard time with all the Rs
She’s been performing covers by various artists for a while now and has a gift for singing. When you listen to her you’d think she’d have a either a Portuguese-English accent or British accent, but no, it’s oddly more North American.
Recently she got her break teaming up with Brazilian stars Claus and Vanessa who sing chilled out Brazilian songs. The duo have this song called Medo de Amar which originally has a reggae relaxing feel to it. By adding in some really great beats and some English verses by Ana, voilà! a remix hit is born. I can’t get enough of this song. Check it out:
NKOTBSB and solo projects
I went to see this show last Saturday with 2 of my girlfriends. We chatted about which group member was our favourite: Anusha loved Jon, Abs loved Jordan, and I too loved Jordan then went to Donnie (can’t get enough of those bad boys!)…we’re pretty old
so we grew up more so on New Kids rather than Backstreet Boys, not to say we didn’t know the songs they sang, we did and we definitely sang-a-long. But as usual I learned the words wrong and was singing my own remix as I called it.
I had no idea that I was going to have a blast. This is my 2nd time seeing the NKOTB and the 1st time seeing BSB. They are true performers! They were slick with their dance moves, sang exactly how I remembered them, and had some really funny moments with ladies from the crowd.
The older guys seemed to be in better form than their younger counterparts, physically, vocally, and as a group. Their bodies were urber sexy and you could tell they worked hard to get those rock hard abs to impress their fans. And we definitely appreciated it! Here are some memories:

Apparently from what I hear on the radio and read on the Internet Jordan Knight and Nick Carter recently came out with solo projects while still working on this tour. I’m not really sure where they get the time. I think they both have good pop-dancing-in-trend songs…but I think I like Jordan’s a bit better. Maybe it’s because I like his voice a better, I find Nick’s to still sound like a boy.
Jordan Knight – Let’s go higher
Nick Carter – Love can’t wait
If you’ve been to their show comment on how you enjoyed yourself. I wonder if it’s the same performance for their entire tour…that can get boring fast.
